About Rachel

Hey there stranger! I'm Rachel, I'm 24 years old, and I'm from Cambridge, UK.

I have a huge urge to travel, which has steadily been growing since leaving university. Over the last couple of years we've (the Boyfriend Ian and I)  had some great trips away (see early posts!) however my boyfriend Ian and I are now gearing up for our big adventure.

This is me!

So just who is Raider Rachel?

Well,  I love to read almost anything, largely fantasy, Russian Literature, and recently have gotten into graphic novels. I weight train using kettlebells and love cycling in the summer, mostly to negate the effects of my love of cooking and eating! (There will be lots of mentions of food along the way!) I studied English and Creative Writing at uni, and have been known to be an obsessive gamer when allowed.

What's the plan?

We don't have much of a plan at the moment, but we know we want to spend more time away than just a holiday, so right now it's Canada Working Holiday Visa for 1-2 years. After that it will hopefully be New Zealand and perhaps Australia. After that who knows, we're thinking of driving through Europe (or maybe Interlinking it) I'd like to do parts of Asia, but this is so far in the future it's mad to even start thinking about it quite yet!

So why the blog?

Raider Rachel is an attempt to show what I'm up to and how we're going about things. It's for friends and family to keep up to date with our goings on, a personal memoir for myself to look back upon, for fellow travelers to find useful information, to tell funny stories, and maybe even write the odd informative article! I'm also open to answering questions or writing request posts on topics anyone can come up with, so please get in contact!
